' STATE COAL MINES. (Press Association. —Copyright.) 1 (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. In the Assembly Mr Odden said .he was, prepared to accept an amendment to the .jiate Coalmines liill restricting the sale to the State services. The reason for the Governme'nt starting the mine was the exorbitant prices charged, by private owners. He quoted the success of the State mines in other countries, including New Zealand. He estimated the cost and sinking fund at £98,200, and he estimated the profit at £28,500 a year. He felt sure that if the British Government owned a few mines the present trouble would have been ended in . an hour. The debate was adjourned., ' ALLEGED BRIBERY. (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. In the Assembly Mr. Griffiths accused Mr Hanley, an Opposition member, - for trying to bribe the employees, of the State brick works to allow ,fires to die down and spoil thousands of bricks.
