Mr. Lloyd George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, .speaking in London, saidthat tihere had been much, give and take over the National Insurance Bill, but it was now absolutely safe. Incidentally he stated that power •would 1 'be given to compel owners of insanitary- dweLlings to .pay far excessive sickness caused thereby.' Municipalities responsible for insanitary conditions would a.so have spay similarly. "We shall never be rid of slurtis." said 'Mr. George, "until we make them a bad speculation."
