MR W. H. PRICES DEPARTURE.
PRESENTATION BY THE GGLF CLUB. At the Nelson Cl'ub yesterday afternoon a presentation was mad-j to Mr. •W. H Price, on behalf of the Nelson Golf Club. j\lr. C. J. Haxley, captain -cf the 'Club, ocupied the chair, and' said that while all golfers regretted 1 Mr. Price's 'departure Nelson people amust congratulate him on his promotion to the charge ■of tho Invercargill-Bluff branch of _ the Union Cbmpany. He trusted thatt in a. few years Mr. Price would reach tho top of the tree in the service. He had always beon good sport,, and last year snad "been runner-up for the championship. He had secretary for three and a-half wars, and the club had proa•per&d considerably in this time largely owing to his efforts. He had much pleasure in. presenting Mr. Price with a solid silver rose bowl, and in wishing him and Mrs. Price every happiness. .Messrs H. C. Cock, C. R. Fell, W. T?r>nt T W Wood, F. J. MeOatoe ,JHrir' V P- Burnes, and T. Houlker also 'spoke .in eulogietic terms of Mr. Price's services to golfMr. Price, in reply, thanked, those present for the handsome ,present and 'albo for their expressions of goodwill for his future. He assured them that he would carrv away with him fond recollectipns of 'Nelson and the Nelson Golf Club, to which he -wished every success in the future. He consider-d that Nelson had the (makings of one of the best golf links in New Zealand, and he hoped that Mha time would not be long betore the New Zealand golf championships wou.d «be played on the Tahuna links.
