Mr. .ATM ORE'S CAN DID AT URE. (Communicated.) Mr. Harry Atmore addressed a meeting of ele> i' is at Tahuna last evening, when Air. .).>!" z AVells occupied the chair, and tutiu were 12 electors present. Mr Atmore spoke for about li hours, dui'ing which he referred to the coit of living, the land, liquor, and national defencd questions, party issues, elective Upper House > workers' dwellings, etc. A vote of thanks and confidence was proposed by Mr. Wells, seconded bv Mr. Balck, .and carried unanimously. A committee of eight was then iormcd, and Mr Wells and Mr. Balck v. ere elected chairman and secretary respectively. Sir. Atmore will speak at the Brook street schoolroom at 8 o'clock this evening and at Hampden-stieet sclioo. on Monday -evening. meeting of Mr Harry Atmore'.?. committee, ajad those desii'ousi of joining, will be held in the Institute. Brightwater (not Richmond, as previously notified) this evening ,at 7.20.
MR. MOFFATT AT RANZA'U. (Communicated.) Jlr Moffatt addressed the electors at Ranzau 1-i-- evening, about thirty settiers beiEi.- present, including a number of ladies. Mr Christian Sen\vass occupied the chair, and in introducing the candidate spoke of him in highly complimentary terms, and felt confident that Mr .aaotfatt- would win at this election. The candidate, who was greeted with applause, kept- his audience interested for an hour and a. half, and while treating of the ouestion of land' values and the remedy "by way of a further increase in the graduated land tax on large holdings, said -lie. noticed that another candidate was now recommending the same remedv bow the speaker had popularised it in the electorate. He (the speaker) believed that the missionary work for land reform he had done at the last election- was being appreciated. The support- he was receiving from the farmers this time proved it. At the conclusion of the address the Chairman, supplemented Mr Moffatt'? statements a s to the value of leaseholds, and gave several instances. In answer to questions, Mr Moffatt admitted that the Government had departed from it-=i professed principles on land tenure; but believed the Liberal Party would be reconstructed, and there would be a demonstration. at the polls favourable to an adherence to the basic principles of Liberalism. The answers to questions were well received, and Mr W. Smith .moved a very hearty vcte of thanks'and confidence in Mr'Moffatt as their representative. This was seconded by Mr Ray Haycock, and carried unanimously. - Mr Moffatt will address the electors at the Appleby schoolroom this evening. (Mr Moffatt desires to state that he has received a letter from Mr At more, in which Mr Atmore claims to have advocated an increase in the graduated hind tax at every one of his meetings since 3902 In accepting Mr Atmore s statement, Mr Moffatt says that he has no recollection'oi having read it in any report of Jlr.Atmore's meetings.) }JB. HAMPSOX'S CANDIDATURE. Mr W Spencer Hampson will address the- electors at Waflefield this evening, and at Richmond on Tuesday. MR BISHOFS CANDIDATURE. Mr Bishop will address the electors at French Pass to-morrow nigh- ; Hfflsiae, Monday; 'Canvastown .luesday; Deep Creek, Wednesday; Carluke, Thursday, 28th inst.; Flat Creek, Friday 29th inst, ; Croixelles, Saturday, 30th inst. -All meeting will commence at 8 o'clock.
