(2) Approximately, what is the total cost to the nation of our present monarchical system? Thanking you "in anticipation, I am, etc., 11. G.K. (The schedule to the Civil List 1910 sho-ws that the Privy Purse, salaries, and expenses of the Royal Household, works, an J' Royal Bounties, totalled £470;000. The King, j llf addition, receives' the 're■ve'nuas of the Diiiliy of Laticast&r, arid his_ Majesty pays income tax on the Privy Purse, which is £IIO,OOO a year. Of the Civil List' salaries, • household, etc.y absorb £538,800. •• There is- ■ -orovision for other members of the Royal Family amounting to £126,000.—Ed. N.E.M.)
