LIVE STOCK REPORT. Messrs Bi&ley Bros, and Co. report on the live stock market as follows : Since our last review we have held sales at our various yards, when values have been* wall maintained. Within the last ten days, our advertised fixtures at Upper Moutere, Tapawera, and Richmond were carried out, and in each case the yarding was gcod : and the attendance 'large, and there was good competition for almost evei-y lir.e offering. The prices realised were the full current marKet values. Cattle: Fat cows, light weight, £5 10s to i) 6 ss; store steers, 2A to 3 yeairs old. in- forward condition, i 4, £*4 10s, ,to £5 £>s ■; steers, to years, forward condition to £5 7s 6d ,- Jersey -grade cows, October ca'vers. £5 to £5; J-sr.-ey Cows, £7 to £10; Shorthorn cows, Soptexnbttr and October calvers, mixe dages, £4 10s to £6 ss; caJ'vea, mixed sexes. £1 £s to £1 9- ; extra g.;od, to £1 12s &d ; yearlings, small, £1 Cs to £1 17s 6d ; heifers, ' 2 years, £3 14s to £4. 3 years, coming into profit, to £5 5«. All classes of fat cattle are very scarce, and the market now has. a hardening tendency. Sheep.—Fat wethers. 14s to 16s 6d : ewes, 12s to 13s 6d ; fat hoggets, lis to 13s. according to finish; ewes in lamb, aged. 3s to 10s 6d ; ewes, 2 to 8-tooth, are selling readily at- Us 6d to 14s ; store wethers are wanted, values ruling from lis to 13b 6d ; store lambs, small are slow to sell, prices ranging from 5s to 7s ; store lambs, medium, from 7s to 8s; good, with 'Larger proportion of ewes, to 10i 6:1. (All fats are beintr inquired for, and we look for advanced prices. Horses.—The market for the last month has improved a little. There is a ■gord- demand' for hacks and l harness horses; also a demand for all. draughts, but at low values. Pigs.—Values, have not been ruling high, -although the demand ha,s been fairly good. Suckers to 6 months old have been .selling from 7s 6d to 12s 6d ; good stores from 14s to 15-. The demand now is fair for porkers and bacon pigs.
