THE RAGING COMMISSION
INJUSTICE TO THE RANGITIKEI CLUB. (United Pjbess Association.) , WELLINGTON, Monday. A deputation from the Rangitikei Racing vAib waited on Mr Buddb today, to protest against the decision) of the Rjacing; Comimission, which mieans the extinction of the, club. It was .pointed out that the club was established! i n1855, and a few ago expended £BOOO om the purchase of land and improvements. It had an 'overdraft of £3OOO, for which two citizens were guarantors. The deputation urged that it was obviously a gross .injustice t abolish, this club, and' at the same tune (recommend' the creation of two new clubs; and asked that tho club at least be given the opportunity of reduc r d'ng its liability. It was suggested that next year the Man-ton Club's races be •run at Bulls, the proceedsi to go to tho Rnngitikoi Club. Mir Buddo said! that lie 'had' considera.ble difficulty in commenting on the Commission's report, as- it had _ again to go before the Crown Law Advisers to see if it was in conformity with, the Act. He thought he woukl ha.ve to follow the ■recommendations of rtho Commission, as the. Act was practically mandatory : but he would obtain aid-vice to see if ho could impose any condition®.
