ADDIXGTOX LIVE STOCK MARKET. {United Press Association.) GHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. At the Addington live stock market there were fairly large -entri-os of stocK, arid a good- attendance. Store sheep sold well, and fat sheep were firmer. Fat cattle were a shade easier, and- fat pigs were likewise somewhat lower than last week. The yarding of sheep showed a s-tiLI further failing off in numbers, and included some good lines of lambs and a better class of ewes than of late. There was a. good demand for lambs, and prices wore improved' by about 6cl per head. Good ewes were also firmer, while wethers, which were of average quality, showed no change. A line of extra good sound mouth ewes made 13s 9d to 14s 10d; and. other lots 10s 6:1 to lis 6d ; fair mouthed' sorts. 7s Id to 8s 6d ; and culls. 3s to 6s : an average line of wethers. lSs to 13s* 6d ; and lighter. lis to 12s 6d'; good lambs (of mixed sexes), 8s 9d to 9s 3d ; medium, 7s to 8 6d :and ewe lambs, 12.3 2d. There was an entry of 2315 fat lambs, the quality being muvh better than the average, and there was a brisk sale for all freezing lines, and prices were firmer. The export buvcr. t<;:k 2169 at prices ranging from 10s 6d t> 20s : 122 went to butchers at 10s to 21s; and 24 were

passed in. The yarding of fat sheep was larger than, last week, and the quality was about the -usual a.verage. There was an active demand on the part of bath exporters and' butchers, and the market opened- at advanced rates, prime wethers selling at Is, and prime ewes at 6d to 9d better than last week. The range of prices was : Prime wethers. IBs to 22s lid. medium, 15s to 17s 6d ; light. 13s Bd' to 14s 6d; prime ewes. 15s to 19s lid'; extra to 21s; medium, lis 5d to 14s 6d; aged and light. 10s to lis; merino "wethers, lis 2d to 13s 3d.

The yarding of fat cattle totaled' 299 Lead, or about- £0 Jess than last week. The quality was most prime; but notwithstanding this and the shorter supply" the demand was not -Very keen, and ibe prices were somewhat easier. Steers made £7 7 S 6d to £ll 15s. and extras to £lB 10s; heifers. £5 12s 6d to ,£ll ; cows, £5 17s 6d to £ll 7s 6d. -equal to 24s to 28s for prime, to 30s for extra, 21s to 23s for -medium, and 19s 6d to 20s 6d for cow and inferior beef per 10q lbs. North Island steers made £ll to £l3 17s 6d; and heifers, £8 10s to £lO ss. Veal calves gold at 4s 6d to 55s ; extra to £3 18s, according to size and quality. Store cattle comprised.' old cows, and they sold at from 16s- 6d to £3 ss. Dairy cows sold) well, prices ranging from 10s to £9 10s.

Pigs were entered in larger numbers in the fat .pens than last week, and there was therefore Jess briskness in the bidding. Choppers sold up to 19s ; heavy baconers, 50s to 55s ; and lighter sorts, 36s to 465, equal to 4d to oer lb. large porkers, 25s to 30s: and lighter sorts, 20s to 23s ,equal to to 4£d per lb. Store pigs sold better, medium sorts making 20s to 26s : smaller, 14s to 18s; slips, bs to 13s; and v.-caners, 2s to 61s. \
