DOMESTIC DISAGREEMENT.
BAD CASE AT DUNEDIN. SEPARATION ORDER AND A FINE. (United Pa ess Association.) DUNEDIN, Monday. At the Police Court t-o-day a woman named Jano Elizabeth Newton applied for a separation order against her husband, William Newton. i&he stetedthat the four children were half-starved. They had no furniture, except- a wooden bedstead and one chair. Her husband had' thrown things at her, and lie had held 1 a razor ov-c.r her tliroat-, while the children were crying round her. His language* at times was most filthy .The ctelenire was that the whole trouble was •caused through a man,, whom Newton gave a hiding when he caught him in the house. His wife was too lazy to cook, and, that was why tho children. \\ ere half-starved. The separation order was granted, the -•hil-uren to re-maun in tho custody i>! their mother. Newton to pay £1 a week for tho maintenance of the family. Newton was tiii-ed £1 for assaulting a n.<-.. named Preston, and ordered to pay £1 Is costs.
