THE HARBOUR BOARD ELECTIONS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Many country electors will be in doubt how to vote for members for the Harbour Board', not knowing tho views of candidates on the all important question of borrowing, or not, for widening the entrance to the harbour etc.;,:l intend to vote for <th© old members,: because I think tihey at© opposed to bb'r- • rowing, and we in the country,, at all events, aire already overburdened with rates. I agree with Mr Coleman, who stated ira conversation that all that . :is required is to "hire a self-propelling dredge to do some necessary work outBid© the entrance to the harbour, and use.the ptresenit. dredge, for widening tite deep space inside the haribouir." Tnie present aitmace has proved to 'be wide ' enough for all vessels Nelson will require for, some years. When we get raduiwiay connection with MUrchison and the Coasx will be soon enough to thi.nik about providing for larger "vessels. I am, etc.. . ' "• ' FAKMER. Briigihtwater, April 20, 1911.
