BREACHES OF INDUSTRIAL LAW.
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF TRADES UNIONS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Saturday. Judge Hey don, in imposing a fine on the Carcoar mine strikers, said he hated his jurisdiction requiring the imposing of penalties on men who, except for these breaches of the industrial law. were thoroughly decent and respectable. He was sure that if the trade unions would only form among themselves a resolution that there should be no strikes, their members, however dissatisfied, would be restrained by the unions, which really were the bodies responsible for breaches of the law. (Rec. 10.45 a.m.-) SYDNEY, Saturday. - Tho Industrial Court has fined the Litbgow Ironworks strikers sums ranging from £1 Is. to £3 35,, in default one to four weeks' imprisonment, for striking j n connection with the Carwar men, in 'breach of industrial laws.
