POLICE CHANGES.
APPOINTMENT OF AN INSPECTOR. (Umiis.o Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Thursday. The decision of the Government to continue the Thames police district as a separate district has necessitated the appointment of an inspector to succeed .Inspector Kelly, who has been permanently appointed to an inspectorship at Christchurch. It has been decided to confer the appointment on sub-Inspector A. H. Wriylu, who has been stationed temporarily" at Thames since Inspector Kiely's departure. Inspector V\tright is senior sub-inspector in the police force, having been appointed tc that rank in January, 1906. He joined the force at Invercargill in 1832. and was afterwards transferred to Wellington, where he was promoted to sergeant's rank in January. 1898, and subsequently to the rank he has held untii his present promotion.
