WIRTH'S CIRCUS AND MENAGERIE. OPENING- THIS EVENING. Messrs Wirth Bros.' circus arrived from Picton yesterday, and will commence a season of two nights on j.>iilcon*» Acre this evening. Messrs Wirth Bros, scour Europe and other foreign countries for sensations. They practically draw upon the amusement centres of the wide world, of course in no wise overlooking anything of virtue that can be procured in Australasia. As a feature that will mean much, and for the first time out here, c Messrs Wirth Bros. have .secured such high-class performers as "Baymond," the- gaol-breaker, the champion handcuff king (Australian born), "The Erantz Troupe," ana a host of all new attractions. It may ■be mentioned that Raymond will dive manacled and leg-ironed; in the harbour to-morrow, and that the Frantz troupe are the most highly-paid circus performers that harve ever visited Australasia. Their popularity may be estimated from the circumstance that they are booked for European centres till 1917, as the recognised experts in the acrobatic world. Lovers of horses and ponies in highest development will have jiiuch to marvel at this season in the make-up of the equestrian department, and the wild animal arena is completely stocked with all specimens from the forests in all parts of the world, including- a live hippopotaimus that cost Wirth Bros. £1250. Everything is new the tents, the poles, seats, and wild animal cases. The enormous acetylele gas plant is -also new, and it lights the whole canvas city nightly. It is wholly and completely a new show this season, and unless all signs fail it may be predicted that Wirth- Bros.' Show -will enjoy a brilliant season.
