Much of he language was too bad to be printed, i'he Mayor of the city was appealed to, but he declared the problem was beyond um. Ho referred it to the Humane Society. FUDGE CAKE. Cream together one cupful, of sugo Mid two-thirds of a cupful of butter ;.add on e cupful of milk. Stir in lightly two aid one-half cupfuls of flour, into which mo heaping spoonful of baking powder las been sifted. Then stir in one-fourth mpful of melted chocolate. Add one-half mp of walnuts, broken up coarsely, and astly, three eggs beaten separately. For ihe fuda-e frosting use one and one-half teaspoonfuls of butter and one-half cupfuls of unsweetened cocoa, one and onefourth cupfuls of confectioners' sugar, a lew grains of salt, and one-fourth cup'ul of milk. Heat to boiling point and ioil ten minutes. Remove from fire. •,nd beat until creamy. Add one-half ".easpoonsful of vanilla, and then pour •ver cake to a depth of one-quarter inch. vVith tlie Fudge Cake serve Elephant, Brand Tea.
