NELSON CLUB FOURS,
The final for the club fours of 'the Xe!--on Rowing Club was rowed last evening, wlven Ancell's crew easily defeated ITesseltine's ci'ew The water was choppy and the Tacc w£s rowed against a strong ebb tide. Slvortlv after the start Hesseltine's boat got into the tide rio and lost all chance of making a race it. The crew consisted of Aneell, stroke; Uoldie, 3; Mills. 2: Westrupp, bow. The losers were Hesseliine, stroke; McConcliie, 3; Barnett_ 2; Joliansen, bow.

Mr H.M'Farlan-e, of the A.M.P. Wellington staff, lea.ves on a trip to England early next year. Mr M'Farlane, who i% well known in musical circles, beincj la. member of the Savage C.lub, and ithe Wellington Professional Orchestra, will be attached to the London oftic-e of the society wfren_ in Ix>ndon. He will return via America about fifteen • months hence.
Mr. F. C. J. Cockburn, of Auckland, who hie been appointed art instructor at the' Nelson Technical School, was formerly an. art master .at the Btoywl College of Art, London, and he was. also connected 1 with the Leeds and Wakefield City Schools of Art. For seven yea.ts he was an assistant (master at Leeclis Grammar Schooil, and fw six years organising art master at the Higher Council School under the ilalirax Education Committee. In 1904 Ma*. Gockiburn' was 'sent as a delegate to Switzerland to investigate are teaching tlieiv. He is at present art instructor ait the Auckland Technical College, taking art day technical classes in a.rt subjects. teachc».-s' classes, and evening technical classes. He is also teaher of drawing classes at the Auckland Training CoSege.
