AN AUCKLAND BANKRUPTCY.

A DISCHARGE REFUSED

AUCKLAND, Thursday. To-day, Mr Justice Edwards refused -> grant a discharge from bankruptcy :o George Edward Kobe, a blacksmith's :issistant, of the Thames. His joint liabilities/ with one Thorburn totalled £I2OO. He had no prospect of meeting his obligations, save for a rise in the value of scrip. The Judge s':id the bankrupt was- guilty of contracting debts w'hsa he had no prospect of paying, except on a gamble which did not eventuate.
