O'Brlenites ' * 331 c oppbsiriON. • England 225 Scotland ° Wales 2 Ireland ; . 252 Dr. W. A. Chappie (Stirlingshire). Mr J. C, Wason (Orkney and Shetland), arid Mr E. "Wason, (Clackmannan and Kinross) were all re-elected. The Unionists in Lancashire polled 47 per 'cent., compared with. 43 per cent, at the January election; the Liberals 36J per cent. ; and Labour 16 per cent... compared with. 37 l-3rd per cent, and 19 per cent, respectively in January. Excluding- unopposed- returns, of wltich Unionists secured five, the Liberals . polled- 36,206 above the Opposition, and secured 44 seats against the Unionists' 23.
