HAYWAED'S PICTURES. After an intermission o f ' one night, the popular Hay-ward Pictures' will resume at the Theatre Royal 'this evening wdtlr the new programme which won such favour at Saturday's performances. PHIL WALSH DRAMATIC CO. The P'hll Wal'sh Dramatic Company played the comedy drama, "The Yankee Detective," at the Theatre Royal last when there was i large and eii.thsuias'tie audience. The drama contains four acts-, and .h'roughout these there was not a lull moment. Mr W'al.sh' displayed his versatility by appearing in. four distinct characters— }l . wai'rer, a Pinkerton detective, a German pedlar, and, as a lady chaperon_ Miss Eva Mariasl Paipne appeared as Lady Tavistock. and her acting was' up to her usual high standard. Mr Stuart McRae appeared as -a swell mobsman and also as an aged physician. The other parts were ac'ted with- success-, Misses F. M. Paigne, Eleanor Wade. Helen- Armitage, and Messrs Donald Logan and Dave Williams won a -ihare of -the liberal applause. The coimpany is a very capable one and earries some fine scenery. Its appearance an Nelson is always certain .to cause interest with lovers of the drama.

The Nelson Citizens' Band will give one of their popular evening concerts in the Nelson Rifles' camp on Wednesday evening, commencing at 7.30. They will be assisted by Mr. E. N. Jones' magncphone.
