THE NURSES' TROUBLE
COMMISSION OF INQUIRY
DEMANDED.

DUNE DIN, Monday.
The Hospital Committee at- its meeting to-night decided unanimously .recommend the Board to rescind •ts resolution -aecepit'hi.g t'lie resignation of Miss Eraser, the Matron, and r;i give her .six month's leave of absence on full j>ay. They -also recommend .that the Minister that- the Miriister be -requested to appoint tlie Inspector-General :and a Stipendiary Y-agip'trate to conduct an inquiry into the following matters, namely: — fl) The i jfnb-er of nurse.? off duty at present 'through illness; (2) 'the statements as to 'insufficient time be;.)o- given the nurses- for their meals; (3) 'statement® as to nurses being refused leave to visit -their dying_-re-latives; (5) the -amount of physical work nurses- are called noon to perform; (6) .statements' -as to tlve expensive amount- of «lean'ine nurses are called on to perform on Sunday,?; (7) and such other matter- as 'the commissioners may deem of vi. •' tinnoirtanee to the management of ...ic Hospital. These recommendations will come, before the Board's special meeting on Frid-ay night.
