Pirani. representing the Wanganui Board', was elected Chairman. lie explained that the Wanganui Board had moved in the matier because the .Minister of Education had not stated his intention of calling delegates together this year. Referring to the proposed abolition of Education Boards, the Ch-ainnan said he thougnt a Conference was necessary, if only for the purpose oi.' giving them a a opportunity of singing a tangi nvc/ tlieir own funeral.

An order paper containing soventy or more lemits was divided into four sections, and committees were set up, one to each section, to dismiss and report to die Conference to-mor-row. By this, means it is expected the business' wiil be completed in two da vs.
