AN ART FRAUD.
VICTIMISING AN AMERICAN COLLECTOR. FRENCH ARISTOCRATS IMPLICATED. [Press Association-Copyright.] s (Rec. April 19, 10.40 a.m.) PARIS, Monday. The Count and Countess Aulby de Glatine, well-known French aristocrats, have been arrested at Tours. It is alleged that they sold forged paintings to Mrs Paine, an American lady living in Paris, including pictures described as works of Murillo, Correggio, Titian, and Corot, the four costing £IO,OOO. It is alleged that Mrs Paine had entrusted the Count with the task of .making a large collection, but experts declare that they are all forgeries.
