AT RICHMOND PARK. The annual parade ' (under the management of the Nelson A. and P. Afisociation) of tho stud horses travelling the district thia season, was held at Richmond Park yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of the general public, and breeders from variotis parts of the district were -well represented. The parade was considered to fee the best that has been held for many years, for there were no fewer than 14 entries exhibited, most of them capital specimens of their respective breeds. THOROUGHBREDS. "*" The thoroughbreds .were of high quality, and all were shown in good condition, reflecting ihuch Credit on their grooms. Ben Farley, a new arrival, ■commanded much attention and he is certainly one of the most evenly-bal-, anced thoroughbreds that has been exhibited here, and he comes from stock noted for its gameness and stamina. ■Mokapuna, a locally bred horse, is also a good sort, with a splendid 'back and quarters, a trifle on the leg .perhaps; but has a capital girth and good flat bone. Y. "• ■-'':•:' Iphetus is a .well-bred honSe, of good colour and conformation, and has much to recommend him as a horse likely to produce good stock. TROTTERS. In the trotting class, old Dictator looked as well as ever, and he has evidently .been well cared for during, the off season. This horse is a greal favourite with breeders, and no wonder, for has he not sired some of the best trotters in the Dominion? Fitzroy is a much improved horse, and he was greatly admired. Possessed of plenty of size, with good bone and feet, and claiming aa lie does those pillars of the trotting . world Fitz- James and Torpedo in , his breeding lines, the horse should produce stock second to none. Young Rothschild carries his age well, and is one of the best actioned sires in the Dominion, ana should be useful in getting good utility horses. Cor which there is always a demand. The specification horse Braebiirc was shown in lusty condition, and although not a big horse, he is very compact, and has already proved that ■ he can sire winners, both on the track and in the show ring. The grey stallion Monitor, hailing from the Pelorus district, has plenty of size, and should be a suitable horse to get weight-carriers and coach horses. Don- Cassia (a son of Don Carlo) is only a youngster; but he will- pro-, probatory develop into a handsome horse. He is -but two years old. •DRAUGHTS. In the Clydesdale class the. champion Balmoral, who has been successful at the A. and P. Show for several years in cussession, was shown to advantage, and there is no doubt that this horse would be very hard to . beat at any Metropolitan Show in the Dominion. His Stock are now coming into prominence,- and arc much sought after. Scotland Yet is also a well-known favourite in this district, and he has sired some high-class stock. This horse is sure to be well patronised this season. Bobby Burns, a new arrival from Otago, comes with a good reputation, and will introduce new lines of blood into the district, and being a horse possessing much substance and quality, he will command the attention of the breeders of draught horses. Ivanhoe, who had only just arrived from Blenheim, was shown in excellent condition. He is a powerful, compact horse, and is credited with getting stock 'ihat <hav^- brought' fancy prices in Australia. Craigieburn is a dappled grey horse, with good action. He is z big-bodied horse on short legs, his breeding is first-class, and if properly mated should leave some valuable stock in the district..
