NELSON LAND BOARD.

Tho monthly meeting of tho Nelson Land Board was held ■ yesterday. Present: Mr R. T. Sadd-.(Commis-sioner), and Messrs Lynch,. Wratt, Walker, and Sinclair, A letter was read from the UnderSecretary for Lands, notifying the gazetting of the surrender of R.L. of section 4, block xvi, Matiri district (Braeburn Settlement) by J. Dalton. Two applications for occupation licenses with right of purchase, were granted as follows: — Charles Handcock Mackay, section 5, block vii, Motueka, 00 acres; F. A. K. and S. S. Price, section 18, block xvi, Tad- ! mor, 306 acres. ' Appications for renewable leases were dealt .with aa follows:— Robert Gilmer, blocks iii and vi, Kaiteriteri, 550 acre.; adjourned fill next meeting of Board. Charles S. McCalmont, O.para, 550 acres; adjourned for further particulars as to locality. Henry James Hobberd, block i, Tapamutu, 100 acres; declined, land not contiguous to his present holding. Atkinson to havo the renewablo lease title of section 15, block vii, Kawatii'i district, made out in the name of Robert George Atkinson, who is now the lessee of the adjoining section, was consented to. Payments to local authorities of i "thirds" under section 145 of "The Land Act, 1908," for road making, were approved ' as follows:— Buller County Council, £14 5s 2d; Stoke Road Board, £1 10s; Inangahua County Council, £9 10s 9d; Suburban North Road Board, £1 Os 2d. Payments to local authorities ol "halves" under section 319 of "Tho I Land Act, 1908,"' for constructing repairing, and maintaining roads, were approved as follows: — Buller County Council, .£146 10s 9d; Inangahua County Council, £26 13s sd. Resolved with regard to imporvements that the various lessees bo given from one to six months' time wherein to effect the statutory improvements, failing which the leases will be brought before the Board for cancellation; and with regard to the non-residents they bo called upon to show cause by the next meeting of the Board why their leases should not be cancelled for non-compliance 1 with this condition.
