Court -to-day gave its judgment in, the application' by the employees of private hotels for an award: The Qourt dismissed the application, stating by section 71 of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908, the Legislature had made it clear that the bulk of domestic workers were outside the scope of the. Arbitration system, and in the case of those who came within its scope the Cour£°-had only to exercise its powers of regulation m special cases. Therefore the application for an award was dismissed. Mr McCullough,- the workers' representative on the Court, dissented from the judgment. He said the decision of the Court made it possible_for tho employers to sweat and underpay a largo nu.inbcr of deserving men and women.
