Hampson, as Minister ot the Exterior and Interior, opened the debate, and \w followed by the Premier and Ministers ; and Mr Houlker opposed, *being supported |bj^ Alessrs Duncan, Field Hurst, and' Williams. On a division the motion was lost by a substantial majority, and tbe Premier announced the resignation of the Ministry. Mr Hpjulker was called jpon to form a Ministry, and he announced the subject for the next debate as '.'that Pilfty government without an elective executive shojjJd be abolished."
