CONTINUOUS TELEPHONE SERVICE.
Mr Bisley brought up the question of a continuous telephone service. A former application, he said, was declined as there were not sufficient subscribers. Now, he understood, the number of subscribers was exceeded. He moved that application be made for a continuous service. It was stated that the extra cost to subscribers would be £2 a year. Mr Bisley agreed to allow the matter to stand over till next month, inquiries as to the extra cost of a continuation servico to be made in the meantime. Mr Field said that the extra cost was only to business people, and not to private houses.
