The Christchurch Hospital Board is sending Home for tn expert to take charge of the Cashmere Consumptive Sanatorium. It is thought that it will be able to get a young specialist for £250 a year. No one need give up foreign travel on account of old age (observes an American paper). John Bigelow, now in his 92nd year, sailed recently from France to indulge once more a longstanding and highly-cultivated taste for "doing Europe."
