A LEAGUE FORMED IN NELSON.

Despite unfavourable weather conditions there was a large meeting of sup- . porters of Northern Union football in the Foresters' Hall last evening. 1 The .Chairman (Mr F. W. When jhe went into any project he did so in a whole-hearted manner. He would always be ready to confer with members and assist the aims of the League to his utmost. To give the two new clubs something to kick he would present them 1 with a football each. (Applause). It was mentioned that over thirty players had decided to play under th? Northern rules, and it was decided that new members could muhu application to the secretary by letter at any time. ' The board would be placed in ! a prominent position in the town for notifications of the League. Mr Fairey suggested that each club should select its colours and it name, During the evening apologies were received by letter from players who were out of the city and unable to attend the meeting. A vote of thanks to the Chairman was carried, and the League went into committee.
