MR HALL JONES IN S ENGLAND.
WELCOME TO THE HIGH COMMISSIONER. (From Our Own Correspondent. J LONDON, sth March. The New Zealand Association gave a a reception at the Westminster Palace Hotel on Friday evening to welcome the Hon. W. Hall-Jones and Mrs Mall- ' Jones. There was n large attendance of ! Dominionites. The late High Commissioner, the Hon. W. Pember-Reeves, in a brief speech, welcomed Mr HallJones aa an old personal friend, of high character and good repute in the Dominion. Ho was, he (aid, a very able and experienced official, and one y.'ho harj hflen tried and not found wanting 'during many yeurs of service, and he was sure he would prove a very worthy representative in London, j Th-i Hon. W. Ha!l-Jones, in reply, said ' he thought they could certainly look ' forward to A continuance of the progress, development, and improvement of their beloved country, and hn asked them all, as oportunity arose, to assist him in his efforts, and to do llieir [ best on behalf cf Ne\y Zoalanil. Ue, j bin-self, desired to do all he could in \ that direction. He thanked the Association for their warm weloome, A musical programme was then given by Mr and Mrs J. K Campbell, ! Mrs J. A. Mason, Miss Dull, nnd Mr i Barry Coney, and refreshments were afterwards handed round. Amongst those present were Sir Guy Featherstono, Mr Walter Kenimvay, (.'.M.Q., Dr T. W. Parkinson.
