AMUSEMENTS.
Onr Richmond correspondent writes: —On Tuesday eevning an open-air concert was gfveu in the Recreation Grounds. Richmond, in nid of the funds of the Richmond Bras? Band. Dr Hamilton presided. A temporary stage had Icm erected on which a piano and Mf F. X. Jones' magnophone were installed The programme consisted of plantation elm-uses, interspersed with magnophone selections and items by tlie Richmond Brass Band. Solos were contributed by Mrs \Y. H. May Miss Lammas, Miss Cowles, and Messrs Hodson, O'Connor, Cameron, Francois and Henderson; and duets by Mrs Baker and Miss Challies and Mr and Mrs Henderson. Th entertainment was enjoyed by all present, in spite of tha eold wind which somewhat interfered with the attendance. The proceeds, however, will form a useful addition to the funds of the Band, besides showing in a substantial way the public appreciation of their services.
