The rest of the people of Nelson cannot congratulate themselves on the manner they have responded to the call of humanity. God made Ndson beautiful, hut some of its inhabitants spoil it. In common decency the Reverend Father Clancy and his folk should be thanked for their generosity. For their spontaneous good nature. The fact that a. collection would be taken up in the evening was I announced at the morning service, and I £13 was the result, and Catholics are in a minority in Nelson. I am, etc.,
