EXPLOSION OF GELIGNITE.

A YOUNG MAN KILLED

REEFTON, Sunday.

A young man named Frank Nankervis, a native of Long Gully, Ben(j_jgo, was killed at Big River by an explosion of a gelignite charge, when cleaning up the bottom of a drive. At the inquest yesterday it appeared a portion of an unexploded charge was left maybe for several shifts previously, and must have been touched by him. It killed him and injured his mate.

(Deceased was a brother of Mrs Hocking, of Washington Valley.)
