After 70 days' trial; during which 160 native witnesses were heard, and „ tho expenses of the prosecution reached £10,000, Dmizulu, the Natal Zulu i Chief, was -found guilty of sheltering Bambaata, Mnngati, and other rehels, btit not guilty of ihc'tihg to rebel"ion. He was sentenced: to foiir years' imprisonment, dating . from the time bf his arrest, and to pay a fine of £100.
