GORE TO WAIKAKA RAILWAY.
OPENING THE LINE. [United Press Association.] COiJE, Wednesday. To-day Mi- J. A. Miilar, (Minister of | Railways), opened the Gore to Waikaka j railway in the presence of a large number of" people. From the McNab June- I tion the distance is 13 mik'S, and the to- , tal cost will be about £70,000. of which ! £50.000 was found by debentures. In connection with the opening of the lino the residents of Waikaka entertained Mr W. Fraser, M.P. for Wakatipu, in rooißnition of his strennons advocacy of the railway. A presentation aX a purse of sovereigns was made to Mr Frasor.
