[Press Association. — Copxbioht.] LONDON, Monday. The British Ambassador at Washington has notified Britain's sanction of the submission of the Newfoundland fishery dispute to the Hague Tribunal. PARIS, Monday. Th« French Minister of Marine intends to ask for the immediate commencement of two battleships. CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. On Saturday next week end excursions between Christchurch and Hanmer wil be iauguraled. The journey will be done by motor car. It is proposed to start from the city at 2 p.m. on Saturday, arriving at Hanmer at 6 p.m. Hanme'r is to be left- at 4 p.m. on Sunday, and Christchurch reached at 8 p.m. WANGANUI, Monday. Considerable interest was taken in teh Harbour Board election to-day. There were two tickets, the present members of the Board adhering to the existing scheme of harbour improvement, while a new party advocate cutting a channel through the South Spit.
