Albert Hatcher, Walter Inder, and ' Lancelot Wilson, three young men employed as engine clean:rs on the railway, '■. ivere to-day charged with stealing a case :f plums, a quantity of almonds, and two cases of kerosene from railway wag- , Hon? in the Christchurch station yard. : After hearing the evidence the Magis- ' trate said that if the charge had been of breaking and entering the waggon be would have convicted, but there was no evidence to show that the accused had stolen the goods, and he dismissed tiie case.
