AUCKLAND, Wednesday. ■The wool sales opened this morning, -when 4614 bales were offered. Competition was very "spirited, and vory few lots were passed. The prices obtained for the wool offered by the first three firms were a decided advance on -the and Christchurch figures, and only %d to %d less than i at Tthe -opening sales last year.
