A DARING BANK SWINDLE.

MIS-USE OF A CODE WORD. {'■BBSS Association. — OirrßioHT.) (Received Sept. 29, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, Monday. A daring bank swindle is reported. On, hearing a secret code word at the Haralesden (?) branch of the London & Sonth-Western Bank, intimating the transfer thence of £750 belonging to a customer, the money was received at the Catford branch, where an account was forthwith opened. The supposed customer withdrew £290 and departed in an automobile. He repeated the same operation at seven other branches, each of which received a similar notice, and the total swindle amounted to £2320.
