THE POPLAR GUARDIANS.
SEVERAL BEING PROSECUTED (Pbsss Association.— CoprniQHT.) (Received Sept. "28, 8.50 a.m.) -LONDON, Sunday. Seven ?oplar guardians and ex-guar-dians were charged at the Thames Police Court with conspiracy to defraud the Board of Managers of the Poplar and Stepney Side Asylum district. A remand was granted on bail. The prosecution alleges that the frauds were conducted by,- allowing James Calcutt, builder, to effect repairs at the Blackwall Branch Asylum at his own un- . checked prices.
