PRICE OF MILK TO BE REDUCED.
Discussion then ensued on the price to be charged for milk. Mr Gill proposed that from the Ist October, and until further notice, the price of milk be Is 4d a gallon. In the event of the regulations being adopted, the price of milk to revert to Is 8d a gallon. Mr Gill said that tho dairymen could not bear the expense of continued improvements; the cost must fall on the consumer. Mr Shcather seconded the motion. Mr Euffell moved as an amendment that the price of milk be rellMeS to Is 4d from the Ist October. They should make the reduction irrespective of the regulations; and if the regulations were passed then they could raise the price again. Tho amendment was not seconded, and the motion was carried. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
