A notable achievement in wireless t telegraphy on tbe part of three boys, need respectively 16. 17, and 17 years, has attracted some public attention.. Tho bovs. named Rawson Shark, Stanton, Hicks, and Cyril Brandon, havo for two vears been experimenting, and as . the result of patient labour and many < failures thev have fitted up three sta- j tions: one at Kew (Caversham), another at Anderson's Bay, and a third at Ravensbourne. This eevning messages from the Mayor of West Harbour to the j Mavor of Dunedin were sent and replied : ;to between tho Anderson's Bay and ; Ravensbourna stations, and a 'message was also Hashed across these points by the bovs, and then was sent to the Postmaster-General and Parliament. The sending and receiving of the mes- j sages referred to were supervifid by ; Mssrs A. J. Talbot and E. Falck (o£ j tlhrt Dunedin Telcgrtoph Department), . and both operators speak in high terms | of praise of the success achieved by the , lads. The rate af which messages were sent was about fivo or six words a minute. A number of citizens connected with the Railway Department, shippine interests, and electrical engineering were present, and speak highly of the work accomplished, [subsequently a message was received from the Prime Minister conveying to the young inventors the sincere appreciation of himself and members of Parliament of their messaces.
