At the Magistrate's Court to-day Edward Moody (a barman), pleaded guilty to forging the name of R. McGaffin to a cheque for £10 and uttering the cheque. He was committed to Wellington for sentence, bail being fixed at £100. ..WELLINGTON. Saturday. At the "Supreme Court to-day John Smith, alias Wilson, was sentenced tc 10 years' imprfsonment for what Mr Justice Cooper described as an abominable of fence committed at Wanganui. Wllliarr Johnston, for theft, was sentenced t< three years' imprisonment. WELLINGTON, Monday.
