The monthly meeting of tho Land Board concluded on Friday. ! Applications for flax licenses were ', dealt with as follows :— : Edwaid Robert Issell. block i.. Corrigan), lessee of section 23, Wangapeka Settlement, applied for permission to transfer their leases to Thomas Pascal Mora and Anne Catherine Mora (wife of the latter). — Resolved that the Board do not permit the transfer, and that the applicants be informed that any time after two years from the date of their leases, they may apply to the Land Board for permission to surrender their leases, on the condition that- the lands included thereill shall be re-opened for selection, and that the values of the improvements made by them shall be. paid by the incoming lessees, the value of such improvements being previously ascertain-" ed and determined by the Board, whose decision shall be final. Mr William Wattie, leasee of section 19, block xi, Wangapeka Survey District (Wangapeka Settlement), containing 346 acres, applied for permission to transfer his lease to H. S. Gainsford, of Harwarden, Canterbury.— Resolved as the reason adduced by Mr Wattie does not in the opinion of the Board, come within the meaning of the proviso to regulation 12 of the regulations under the Lands for Settlement Act-, viz., that on the death of a lessee, or the happening of an extraordinary event, a transfer may, with the sanction of the Land Board "and the Minister, be made, the applicant, be refused.
