A CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr J. A. Millar, the Minister of Labour, hreceived a telegram from Mr Lomas at Greymouth to-night, stating that the strike had ended at Blackball, and the men will resume work on Saturday. A compromise has been arrived at in regard to the crib time, which has been fixed at 20 minutes. The terms of tho agreement on which the strike has ended are : (1) The crib time is to be 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes; (3) the men are to work 10 hour shifts; (3) the dismissed men are '' to be reinstated. Bothjparties have » agreed to these terms. Work resumes ! on Saturday. Mr McCullough rendered : great assistance in settling the dispute.
