(Press Ass.tciation. — Copyright.) (Recrcved March 13, 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday. The Rev. Archibald Geikie Brown, copastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, succeeds the R«v. Thos. Spurgeon as pastor. (The Rev. Archibald Geikie Brown was born in 1844, anH was trained in Spurgeon's College. Till lately he was tho pastor of the Bapti^h Church, Chatsworth Road, West Norwood (London). He founded the Baptist Church, at Bromley, .in Kent (1863) ; was pastor of tho Stepney Green Tabernacle in 1866; and built the. East London Tabovnacle which was opened in 1872. He was President of the London Baptist Association in 1877. In 1887 he withdrew , from the Baptist Union in company wOth C. H. Spurgeon owing to the "Down Grade Controversy." His protest, "T)w Devil's Mission of Amusement," is well-known in theological controversial literature.)
