Two eels' were taken out of one part of the wall. . . r The position is regarded as serious enough to call for a special meeting of the City Council, and this will be held on JTriday evening next. The crack in the wall reported by the City Engineer at the last meeting of the Council, Has 'been repaired. I It is understood that it will fee ile- [ cessary to rori all the water out of the dam before complete repairs' cafl tie effected. When this is done ihe oportunity will also be taken to clean out the bottom of the dam. The quality of the water just now is such that it is not safe to use it unless it is first boiled. Parents and school teachers should make a point of preventing children drinking water direct from the pipes. The consumption of water which passed through the meter last week was 4,790.000 gallons. The daily flow was 84,288 galfcns, and the dally cons'tifriptioii a Head of population 85.63 gallons. The rainfall recorded at the Reservoir last week was 1 poimt.
