ADVICE ON BUYING.
I There are, we are glad to say, many I conscientious poultry-breeders who supply birds for laying, and eggs for setting, to produce good layers, who really tako care to sell to their customers' birds and eggs from stock which aro testod layers; but on the other hand, there are many unscrupulous ndvertisers who profess to sail fowls which havo been specially bred for laying) but which have, beon picked up anywhere and those who purchase these aro only buying trouble and disappointment. Buyers of fowls for laying should either purchaso from those who have a reputation to maintain, and who could not afford to sell birds which aro other than they are represented to be, viz., good layers, even if they might wish to do so, or in purchasing from other poultry , keepers they should make sure that the parent stock have been really good layers.
