ATTEMPTS TO DERAIL A TRAIN.
AN AUCKLAND DISTRICT OUTRAGE. A NARROW ESCAPE . [United Pbess Association.] AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The seven o'clock train from Frankton to Paeroa narrowly escaped disaster last evening. The points on the Thames side of the yard were fixed at half-cock, and wedged there with a piece of wood. The train was travelling slowly, and only tho engine was derailed, and 3i hours was occupied in replacing it. A similar attempt to derail a train was made on the same line six months ago. — = I
