THE GALE IN THE NORTH.
AUCKLAND, Monday. The gale which raged here on Sundaydid extensive damage to portions of the now ferro concrete Railway Wharf. The sheathed piles have been torn out almost completely, and the heavy top girder has also "gone. The steel bars have been bent, and stripped of concrete. Altogether the training wall has been the part most affected The beacon on the Maori Rock m the North Channel at Kawau has been dislodged.
