THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION IN THE NORTH. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. In addressing his constituents at Grey Lynn to-night, Mr Fowlds, Minister for Education, said the people of this colony ought to be proud of the way in which Sir Joseph Ward had represented them at the Colonial Conference He had occasoin recently to criticise other delegates, but he had nothing to regret, and nothing to take back. He wanted to see the British Empire's consolidation, for it was the gieatest force in the world to-day, making for peace and progress. We had to see that we maintained unimpaired our own independence in these colonies. and in doing that we must grant tht same freedom of action to the people of the Old Country. He referred tc the regrettable illness of Mr HallJones.
